Sharon D.D. Reid is the Assistant Director of Career Services at Milano. In this role, she focuses effort towards employer engagement, job and internship development for Milano students, new graduates, and alumni. Sharon earned her Ed.M. in Psychological Counseling and her M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and her B.A. in Psychology from New York University (NYU). Sharon has held career services positions at both New York University and Pace University. As Assistant Director at NYU’s Wagner’s Office of Career Services, she significantly increased international employer recruitment, organized successful targeted career fairs and introduced new career development events as Wagner expanded its programs to include specializations for those interested in international service. Prior to that, she was the Employer Relations Manager at Pace University. At both NYU and Pace, Sharon won awards for outstanding professional contributions.
Beyond university settings, Sharon’s background includes consulting in organizational development and training for nonprofits, delivering outplacement services for Drake Beam Morin, Inc., serving as Acting Director of Job Development at STRIVE East Harlem Employment Services, conducting training needs analysis, design, and evaluation for the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York and the Diocese of Brooklyn, and developing a pre-employment program for inmates at the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. She is a frequent public speaker on topics of individual development, federal job search, career exploration, and job readiness.
